Volunteering

Volunteering - Fridays

We have volunteer days open to the public every other Friday.  Activities range from preparing beds for planting, sowing seeds, weeding and other maintenance activities on the land.

We aim to make the work accessible for most people, so if you have any constraints, please let us know ahead of time so we can consider how to accommodate. People under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.

If you'd like to be contacted about upcoming volunteer sessions. Please fill out the volunteer expression of interest form. This will enable us to email you about upcoming volunteer days.

I've really enjoyed my time at Regather farm - it's a brilliant way to learn more about what goes into running a successful organic farm. I've really valued the varied opportunities each volunteer day brings, from planting to harvesting no day is the same - couldn't recommend it highly enough

Volunteering at the farm

Running a 15 acre site takes a lot of work; we massively appreciate those that volunteer their time alongside our staff on the farm. In return volunteers learn growing skills, get active, and get the chance to spend time outdoors with lovely folk. There are tasks available for all skill levels, from seed sowing, planting, weeding and many other odd jobs. If you’re interested in joining, please contact us! We are not able to always offer under 18 volunteering. Please double check with regards to under 18s.

Getting There

Regather Farm is based on Lightwood Lane just off the ring road between Gleadless and Norton. Current volunteers walk, cycle, drive or use public transport. Buses from near the city centre that go near the start of Lightwood Lane include 11, 18, 1a, 20. From the bus it is a 25 minute walk to the Farm. Travel expenses are provided upon request.

We welcome corporate volunteers!

We provide the perfect space for your team to come and get their hands dirty. Big groups of volunteers are an excellent way for us to tackle bigger jobs on the farm and offer a great team-building day for your employees. A great chance to get out of the office, clear your head and get rooted in the seasons.

We welcome groups of up to 10 volunteers at a time, and offer hands on-experience in agroecological growing in a stunning location.

Get in touch to organise

We have hosted a range of organisations on the Farm from the Department of Education to PricewaterhouseCoopers International.

Get in touch with our Farm team to discuss what dates you have in mind, how many people and what you were hoping to get out of the day.
