Green Fox Wild Crafts – Bowl Carving

On this course we will learn to carve a selection of tools which will give you the knowledge and skills to create more projects at home.
Green wood carving is a fantastic skill to learn as it can be done anywhere, with few tools and very little space.  On this course you will use  a carving axe, a selection of bowl gouges, a carving knife and a spoon knife.
I will show you how to use all the tools safely and effectively, how to split your log, wood selection, safely carving with your axe and you will be shown a whole host of knife grips that will give you the skills to carry carving at home. I have a whole host of different crook knives and tools for you to try out and we will talk about various designs and shapes to get you inspired for your next wood carving!

Value X Values: Film – Local Food Roots + Discussion

From the first pioneering organic box schemes in the early 1990s to feeding cities and local food culture today, this inspiring documentary chronicles the emergence of an innovative UK local food movement and what this might mean for the future. We’ll also be showing a selection of inspiring shorts highlighting some of the work that is going on around the country in this sector. Following on from the screenings Regather Director, Gareth Roberts, will host a discussion on the topic of value X values in the food system. (£5)

Salt of the Earth focusses on the internal tensions of the strikers: between the white workers and the Mexican immigrants and between the strikers and the women they struggle to see as their equal.
