Things get busy in the build up to Christmas but it's a great chance to look back on a lovely year of good food, good friends, good farming, hard work, bountiful harvests, pest control and scorching summer days. Come and join us to celebrate our year of local food 2018 and to look forward to next year when we'll do it all over again!
The Christmas box social night is a collaboration with the Sheffield Growers Drinks, bringing box suppliers, local producers, local farmers, allotmenters and foodies together to sup some mulled wine, beer or chai tea, nibble on snacks (provided by us) and chat with new or old friends. Please drop in and join us for a bit.
This is a part of our seasonal veg box social programme; we invite all interested in Regather to join us. It's a free event, but you should come wanting to buy a drink!
From the first pioneering organic box schemes in the early 1990s to feeding cities and local food culture today, this inspiring documentary chronicles the emergence of an innovative UK local food movement and what this might mean for the future. We’ll also be showing a selection of inspiring shorts highlighting some of the work that is going on around the country in this sector. Following on from the screenings Regather Director, Gareth Roberts, will host a discussion on the topic of value X values in the food system. (£5)Tickets & More Info »

“Unless we go to Circular it’s game over for the planet; it’s game over for society” Going “circular” refers to the necessary change from our current take-make-waste linear economy to a borrow-use-return circular economy (sometimes also referred to as the zero-waste or cradle-to-cradle economy). The film is directed by A two-time Telly® Award and Emmy® Award winning filmmaker Graham Sheldon and presented by global sustainability expert, Prof. Dr Wayne Visser. (£5)Tickets & More Info »
When it comes to money, Laurence Peacock (BA English Lit, 2008) definitely knows what he’s talking about. OK, fine, he really doesn’t. But he’s tried his best to find out…
From the mind that brought you ironic tax advice (Dodge&Co, Festival of Debate 2017/18) comes a show about money and how profoundly weird it is. Join Laurence as he tries to answer the fundamental questions: What is money? Where does it come from? And will you give him £7 to talk about it for 50 minutes? No? What if he throws in some jokes and promises to keep the graphs to a minimum? Alright, fine! £6. Geez…
Audience Responses to Dodge & Co’s ‘Tax Dodger’s Guide to Fargate’:
“Garners laughter and despair in equal measure.”
“Interesting… Surprisingly interesting, actually.”
This event is part of the 'Our Democracy' strand which has kindly been sponsored by Sheffield College.
