Quiz Night! (Every Other Wednesday Night)

Every other Wednesday our resident quiz master Ben Eckersley will probe the very depths of your brains in return for drink-based prizes. Expect a mind-opening mix of music, film, geography, history, science, culture, sport & general knowledge alongside a selection of complex connections, cryptic clues and lateral brainteasers. This is a quiz that will take you on a journey through knowledge you forgot you had! (£1 entry per person).

Live Late Dissent

Wordlife & Folk Forest presents – Live Late: Dissent

Specially curated for this years Festival of Debate, Wordlife and The Folk Forest team up with Museums Sheffield to curate an interactive promenade performance event in the Graves Gallery. Featuring poets and musicians strongly in the protest and activist tradition, such as Three Acres & A Cow, Zena Edwards, Alabaster dePlume and Neighbourhood Voices choir. Also featuring a speaker’s corner with activists from Foodhall and other local organisations and collated footage from protests across Sheffield over the years. (£10/£8)

Filmmakers Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein take viewers inside the lives of the workers and their families, who must fight for jobs and their dignity by confronting factory owners, politicians and judges. The result is a real-life political thriller that pits ordinary workers against the local ruling elite and the powerful forces of global capitalism. Do Co-Operatives work in practice? Some argue that cooperatives are doomed to fail or adopt a capitalist approach to business in order to survive.
