Lamplight Club – The Little Unsaid + Andy Whitehouse
March 22 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm£8
The Little Unsaid release a new album for Reveal Records (home of Lau, Joan As Police Woman, Eddi Reader and more) in 2018. Fronted by songwriter John Elliott, The Little Unsaid have spent the last year touring Europe, leaving audiences emotionally rapt with a live show that’s been described as ‘a thumping depth of passion’. Their sound is all their own but echoes the intensity and melancholic overtones of greats such as Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. Join us for a solo show from John, showcasing the songs in their most intimate form.
Joining The Little Unsaid on this bill is the songwriter Andy Whitehouse of The Silver Darlings fame. Andy is recognised as a talented songwriter with a predilection for story and illuminating metaphor. Having fronted a series of much loved Sheffield bands including the Glorious, Honey Barbara and The Silver Darlings, he launched his first solo album, Almost Home in February 2017. This sits alongside two Silver Darlings singles plus albums “Souls” and “Something Of The Sound” on the Anklebreka Records label. He has performed from Edinburgh to Brighton including providing support sets for Martin Stephenson, Mick Thomas, Curtis Eller and many more. He has performed on stage with Chris Wood and been likened to Nick Cave, Jacques Brel and Leonard Cohen due to the intensity of his performance and the romantic poetry of his songs, which are performed to a backdrop of “ethereal and atmospheric” (Rock ‘n’ Reel) guitar.
